National Gallery

The National Gallery, located in the heart of London’s Trafalgar Square attracts millions of visitors each year. Established in 1824, it houses a rich collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900. Renowned for its vast array of Western European paintings, the National Gallery showcases masterpieces by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci. This prestigious institution not only offers free access to the public, championing art for all, but also engages in educational and research activities, making it a pivotal centre for artistic scholarship.

In our commitment to preserving and enhancing this historical building, we have embarked on an extensive technological and architectural documentation project. This initiative includes the creation of a detailed 3D Revit model at a Level of Detail 4 (LOD 4), capturing the intricacies of the gallery’s architecture with accuracy. Complementary to this, a drone survey was conducted, yielding ortho-rectified imagery that provides a topographical and structural representation of the gallery. The project further encompasses the development of detailed floor plans and Reflective Ceiling Plans (RCPs), alongside meticulous elevations and sections of the building.
