ZSL London Zoo

ZSL London Zoo has been a beloved destination for nature enthusiasts and families since its establishment in 1828. Operated by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), this historic zoo is not only a centre for conservation but also a place of education. Spanning 36 acres in Regent’s Park, ZSL London Zoo houses over 750 species of animals from around the world. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to connect with wildlife through immersive exhibits, including Land of the Lions, Gorilla Kingdom, and the famous Penguin Beach. Beyond its role in public engagement, the zoo actively contributes to global conservation efforts and research.

In our dedicated efforts to support and enhance the zoo’s infrastructure, a comprehensive modelling project was carried out. This included a complex tetrahedron 3D model to visualise the geometrical intricacies of certain structures. A meticulous model of the support structures was also developed, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the zoo’s architectural framework. Additionally, a detailed model focusing on the cable tension aspects was produced, offering insights into the engineering considerations essential for the maintenance and development of the zoo’s exhibits. These technical undertakings are crucial for the ongoing preservation, improvement, and expansion of ZSL London Zoo, reinforcing its mission of conservation, education, and engagement with the natural world.
