Selfridges

Selfridges is a beacon of fashion, style, and innovation within London. Established by Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1909, this iconic department store has redefined the shopping experience for over a century. Its striking Beaux-Arts façade and opulent interiors offer a backdrop for an unparalleled shopping adventure. Selfridges consistently pioneers retail trends, housing an extensive range of luxury brands, designer boutiques, and cutting-edge fashion labels. Beyond fashion, it offers a diverse array of products, from beauty and home goods to gourmet treats. With a constant focus on innovation, sustainability, and experiential retail, Selfridges remains an iconic destination for fashion-forward shoppers and a symbol of London’s retail excellence.

In our efforts to uphold and improve this iconic structure, a detailed set of technical and design initiatives was undertaken. This entailed the drafting of comprehensive floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections of the building. A Building Information Model (BIM) at Level of Detail 300 (LOD 300) for the hotel portion was developed, together with a site plan and utility survey to ensure all aspects of the building’s functionality and integration were considered. Additionally, a 3D model of the facade was produced, along with precise grid and datum setting out for precise measurements and alignments. These measures are aimed not only at preserving the building’s historic and aesthetic value but also at supporting its ongoing role as a premier retail destination.
