Emmanuel College, a prestigious institution nestled in the heart of the historic city of Cambridge, is a bastion of academic excellence and tradition. Founded in 1584, Emmanuel College has a rich and storied history, making it one of the oldest colleges at the University of Cambridge. Its setting along the banks of the River Cam, with its Georgian architecture, provides a serene and inspiring environment for scholars and students alike. The college has produced a wealth of accomplished alumni, including Nobel laureates and notable figures in various fields.
In our dedication to preserving the legacy of Emmanuel College, we embarked on a series of essential tasks. This included the creation of comprehensive as-built site-wide 3D Building Information Models (BIM) in both Revit and IFC formats, along with an as-built 3D site plan, providing an accurate representation of the college’s physical layout. Additionally, detailed as-built 3D internal BIM models were developed, offering insights into the structural elements within the college buildings. Legal boundary mapping was conducted to ensure clarity and compliance, while a point cloud and viewer were supplied to facilitate comprehensive understanding and management. These endeavours serve to uphold Emmanuel College’s historical significance and provide invaluable resources for its continued academic pursuits and scholarly endeavours.
